يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ وَ سَلَّمْ دَائِماً أَبَداً
O My Lord send blessing and peace,
always and forever
عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَ أَهْلِ البَيْتِ كُلِّهِم
On the Prophet and his household, all of them
ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِذْ لَمْ تَأْتِ زَابِرَةً
I have oppressed my self since I did not visit
ضَرِيحَ أَهْلِ الهُدَى وَالنُّورِ وَالهِمَمِ
The resting place of the people of guidance
light, and aspirations
وَ شَدَّ جَدُّهُمُوا أَحْشَاءَهُ وَ طَوَى
Their grandfather tied his waistband and folded
عَلَى الطَّوَى مُهْجَةً مَمْلُوءَةَ الحِكَمِ
It on an empty stomach, whose core is filled with wisdom
وَرَاوَدَتْهُمْ مُلُوكُ الأَرْضِ بِالذَّهَبِ
The kings of the Earth tried to tempt them with gold
كَيْمَا يَكُونُوا لَهُمْ طَوْعاً لِأَمْرِهِم
That they may be obedient to their command
فَخَالَفُوا أَمْرَهُمْ فِي كُلِّ مَعْصِيَةٍ
They rejected their command in every act of disobedience
وَجَاهَدُوهُمْ بِلَا عَجْرٍ وَلَا سَأَمِ
And they struggled insistently without weariness
فَالصَّبْرُ فِي حَسَنٍ وَالحِلْمُ شِيمَتُهُ
Patience and clemency in Hasan is his natural disposition
يَكْفِيكَ مَا قَدْ جَرَى مِنْ صُلْحِ جَيْشِهِم
What has come regarding his reconciling
between armies suffices you
بِهِ الخِلَافَةُ قَدْ تَمَّتْ كَمَا وَرَدَتْ
The Caliphate ended with him as narrated
عَنِ النَّبِي وَ زَالَتْ بَعْدَ حُكْمِهِم
From the Prophet and it ceased after their rule
فَاقَ الخَلِيقَةَ فِي أَيَّامِهِ فَغَدَا
He excelled the creation in his days, and he came
كَأَنَّهُ حَيْدَرُ فِي النَّاسِ كُلِّهِم
As if a lion among men, all of them
دَعْ أَنَّهُ مُرْسَلٌ وَانْسُبْ لَهُ شَرَفاً
Leave that he was sent and establish for him nobility
وَقُلْ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ خَيْرِ الخَلْقِ وَ الْأُمَمِ
And say to him, O son of the best of creation and nations
فَإِنَّهُ بَحْرُ عِلْمٍ طَابَ وَارِدُهُ
He is an ocean of knowledge, wonderful is his arrival
كَمْ جَادَ لِلنَّاسِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَ مِنْ كَرَمِ
How generous he was to
people in his knowledge and honor
وَكُلُّ مَا قُلْتُهُ مِنْ مَدْحِ سَيِّدِنَا
Everything I have said in the praise of our master
فَإِنَّهُ البَعْضُ مِمَّا فِيهِ مِنْ شِيَمِ
It is but some of what he possesses of character
نَبِيُّنَا المُصْطَفَى قَدْ كَانَ يَحْمِلُهُ
Our Prophet, al-Mustafa, would carry him
وَكَانَ يُسْمِعُهُ طَيِّبِ الكَلِمِ
And would make him hear pure speech
وَأَكَدَتْ قِصَّةُ السَبْطِ الحُسَيْنِ لَنَا
story of the grandson, al-Husayn, is assured for us
وَإِخْلَاصَهُ لِإِلَهِ اللَّوْحِ وَالقَلَمِ
His sincerity to the God of the Tablet and the Pen
وَكَيْفَ يَرْضَى حَيَاةً بَعْدَ مَا هَتَكَتْ
How can he be pleased with life after
أَهْلُ الْإِمَارَةِ شَرْعَ اللَّهِ كَالحُرَمِ
The monarchy dishonored the Shari'a of Allah like women
مُحَمَّدٌ جَدُّهُ وَ هُوَ ابْنُ فَاطِمَةٍ
Muhammad is his grandfather, and he is the son of Fatima
وَأَصْلُهُ بَضْعَةٌ مِنْ صَاحِبِ العَلَمِ
His origin is a piece of the possessor of banner
هُوَ الحُسَيْنُ الَّذِي ظَهَرَتْ شَجَاعَتُهُ
He is al-Husayn, the one whose bravery is manifest
لِلَّهِ حَقًّا وَلَمْ يَسْخَطُ وَلَمْ يَلْمِ
For the sake of Allah, in reality
and he did not anger or blame
دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِالعَزْمِ القَوِي وَ لَمْ
He asked Allah for strong determination and did not
يَتْرُكُ طَرِيقَةً خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهِم
Leave the path of the best of all of creation
وَكُلُّهُمْ شَهِدُوا حَقًّا بِأَنَّ لَهُ
They all witnessed the reality, that for him
هَذَا الْجِهَادَ لِأَنَّ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَقْمِ
This Jihad was because the Din had not been established
وَوَاقِفُونَ عَنِ الدَّعْوَى لِوَقْفَتِهِ
And refrained from claims due to his stance
حَتَّى دَعَا فَدَعَوْا حَقًّا بِجَدِهِم
Until he called, so they called to the truth by their grandfather
فَهُوَ الَّذِي قَامَ بِالدَّعْوَى لِخَالِقِهِ
He is the one who established the call to his Creator
مَعَ الَّذِينَ رَضُوا أَكْرِمْ بِسَعْيِهِم
Along with those who are pleased
so they are honored by their striving
مُنَزَّهُ عَنْ حُظُوظ النَّفْسِ سَيِّدُنَا
Our master is exalted above the apportionment of ego
لَا يَبْتَغِي غَيْرَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ ذِي الكَرَمِ
He only seeks the Countenance of Allah
Possessor of Honor
وَانْسُبْ إِلى المُصْطَفَى ذَاتاً لَهُ امْتَتَلَتْ
Connected to al-Mustafa in essence obeying
أَمْرَ الْإِلَهِ وَ لَمْ تَرْكَنْ إِلَى السَّامِ
The command of the Divine
and does not resort to weariness
فَإِنَّ جَدَّ حُسَيْنِ كَانَ يُخْبِرُهُمْ
Indeed the grandfather of
Husayn has informed them
بِالْأَمْرِ فِيمَا جَرَى فَالْحُكْمُ لِلْحَكَمِ
Of the affair, regarding that which will come
so judgement belongs to the Judge
لَوْ كُنْتَ تَحْزَنُ يَا هَذَا فَقَدْ حَزِنَتْ
O poor soul, if you grieve, surely, they grieve
أَهْلُ المَحَبَّةِ مِنْ عُرْبٍ وَ مِنْ عَجَمِ
the people of love, from the Arabs and non-Arabs
أَوْ كُنْتَ تَبْكِي فَإِنَّ الْأَرْضَ بَاكِيَةٌ
If you cry, indeed the Earth cries
مَعَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ مِنْ أُمَمِ
Along with the sky and every community in them
أَعْيَ الْأَعَادِي فَلَمْ تَنْفَعْ لَهُمْ حِيَلٌ
The enemies were incapacitated
and their stratagems did not benefit them
بُغْضُ الحُسَيْنِ فَضَلُّوا عَنْ نُفُوسِهِم
Hatred of al-Husayn they have deluded their own selves
لَمْ تَأْتِ قِصَّتُهُمْ فِي قَتْلِ سَيِّدِهِمْ
Their story isn't told regarding the killing of their master
إِلَّا وَكُلُّ الوَرَى أَنُوا مِنْ الأَلَمِ
Except every creature cries out from the pain
كَالشَّمْسِ كَانَ حُسَيْنِ فِي نَضَارَتِهِ
Husayn was like the Sun in his radiance
مِنَ التَّلَاوَةِ لِلقُرْآنِ فِي الظُّلَمِ
From the recitation of the Quran in the night
وَكَيْفَ أُبْغِضُهُ وَ النَّارُ مَوْضِعُ مَنْ
How can I hate him, while the fire is a place for the one
فِي قَلْبِهِ أَتَرٌ مِنْ بَعْضِ بُغْضِهِم
In whose heart is even a trace of hatred of them
فَمَبْلَغُ القَوْلِ هَذَا ابْنُ فَاطِمَةٍ
The extent of these words is: He is the son of Fatima
بِنْتِ النَّبِيِّ لَهُ العَلْيَاءُ مِنْ قِدَمِ
The daughter of the Prophet
possessing loftiness from pre-eternity
أَكْرِمْ بِهِ مِنْ شَرِيفٍ طَابَ عُنْصُرُهُ
Honored by his nobility and purity of his constitution
أَكْرِمْ بِهِ مِنْ حُسَيْنِ قَامَ بِالْحَرَمِ
Honor is from Husayn standing in the Haram
كَالزَّهْرِ وَالوَرْدِ بَلْ كَالبَدْرِ طَلْعَتُهُ
Like the flower and the rose
rather like the full moon in his appearance
فَلَا ظَلَامُ يُرَى إِنْ سَارَ بِالْحَشَمِ
There is no darkness seen when he travels with his entourage
كَأَنَّهُ وَهُوَ فِي هَذَا المَقَامِ لَهُ
As if in this station there are with him
مِنَ الْجُنُودِ مَلَابِينُ مِنَ العِظَمِ
millions of soldiers in greatness
كَأَنَّمَا أَحْمَدُ المُخْتَارُ سَيِّدُنَا
As though Ahmad, al-Mukhtar, our master
عِنْدَ الحُسَيْنِ يُرَى لِلْقَلْبِ فَاغْتَنِم
Is with al-Husayn, seen with the heart, so take advantage
لَا مَشْهَدٌ فِيهِ نُورٌ مِثْلُ مَشْهَدِهِمْ
There is no resting place that has
light like their resting place
وَلَا مُلُوكٌ لَهُمْ عِزُّ كَعِزَهِم
And no king has honor like their honor
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ وَ سَلَّمْ دَائِماً أَبَداً
