يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا أَبَدًا
O My Lord send blessing and peace,
always and forever
عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَأَهْلِ البَيْتِ كُلِّهِمْ
On the Prophet and his household, all of them
فإن كل حبيب جاء قاصدهم
If every lover came seeking their aim
لله حب لهم تالله لم يضم
By God, love for them would not unite
لو أخلص القلب للأحباب ما بقيت
Had the heart been sincere to the beloveds
it would not remain
فيه الوسواس بالأغيار والظلم
In it the whispers of others and injustice
من لى بحب لهم من لى بطاعتهم
Who for me in loving them? Who in obeying them
من لى بوصل يداوى القلب من سقم
Who to connect and heal the heart from its ailment
فلازم الحب واسكن فى مواطنه
So cling to love and dwell in its abode
وأنهض لأهل الهدى تحظى بوصلهم
And rise to the people of guidance
you'll attain their connection
والنفس يصلحها رب إذا دخلت
The soul her Lord reforms it if she enters
فى دار أهل الرضا أكرم بدارهم
The home of those content He honors their abode
فاصرف لنفسك عن سوء الطريق ولا
So turn your soul from the evil path, and do not
تركن إليها وعاديها بلا سلم
Yield to it or habituate it without a ladder
وراعها واجتهد فى صرف شهوتها
Guard it and strive to divert its desires
بالصوم والذكر فالشهوات لم تدم
Through fasting and remembrance
for desires do not endure
كم نال بالصوم صوام وكم كشفت
How many a fasting one attained through fasting
and how many unveiled
أسرار غيب لعبد قام فى الحِرم
Secrets of the unseen to a servant
standing in the sanctuary
وأخشى التكبر إن الكبر مهلكة
I fear arrogance, for pride is destructive
وثلث للبطن لا تشبع من اللقم
And a third for the belly never satiates with morsels
واستفرغ الدمع فى حب الإلهى وفى
Pour forth tears in love for the Divine, and in
حب النبى وحب الآل كلهم
Love for the Prophet and love for all his Family
وخالف الخلق إن صدوك عن طرق
Oppose the people if they deter you from paths
بها صلاحك واحذر موضع التهم
Of your salvation and beware places of suspicion
ولاتطع أبداً فى الناس معتزلا
Never obey people utterly while isolated
وظن خيرا بأهل الدين والحكم
And think well of the people of faith and judgment
أستغفر الله قد قدمت موعظة
I seek God's forgiveness I've offered advice
ولست متعظا فاعجب ولا تلم
Yet am not heeding it marvel, but do not blame
أمرتك الخير فاسمع ما أقول ولا
I've commanded you good
so hear what I say, and do not
توافق النفس إن نادتك للغم
Agree with the soul if it calls you to sorrow
ولازم العلم واجلس فى مجالسه
Cling to knowledge and sit in its gatherings
لا تشتغل بحطام المال والنعّم
Don't busy yourself with
the rubble of wealth and luxuries
