إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا
O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.
Although the shrine of our master, Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli
is located in Marrakesh and the book “Dala’il al-Khayrat” is widely associated with the city,
the life of our master, al-Jazuli reveals that the book was actually written in Fez.
This historic city was founded by Mawlay Idris al-Azhar, son of Moroccan founder,
in early days of his ruling, Mawlay Idris al-Akbar, whose lineage traces back, to our master al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him),
Son of our master ‘Ali (may Allah honor his face) and our lady Fatimah al-Zahra’ (peace be upon her), the daughter of our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
مدينة فاس المباركة
ولهذه المدينة تاريخ عريق لقد ضمت هذه المدينة أناس أفنوا أعمارهم في خدمة سيدنا النبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
أحضرت طلابي هنا إلى مدينة فاس منذ سبع سنوات
وقد وُفقت لأكون هنا في الوقت المناسب في المكان المناسب
فكنت في ضريح سيدي مولي إدريس
كنت هناك يوم الجمعة في الوقت بين صلاتي العصر والمغرب
لم أكن أعلم أنهم يقرأون كتاب دلائل الخيرات كاملا يوم الجمعة في هذا التوقيت
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ لَزِمَ مِلَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
O Allah, make me among those who hold fast to the religion of Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
كان المجلس به 40 رجلا يجلسون في حلقة الذكر
بينما هؤلاء يجلسون وظهورهم إلى الحائط، يجلس في مواجهتهم 40 آخرون
كانوا يتولن الصلوات على سيدنا محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) من أعماق قلوبهم وبمنهى الإخلاص من وجدانهم
وكأنهم في حالة سباق مع بعضهم البعض
اللهمَّ صلِّ على سيدنا محمدٍ نُورِ الأنوارِ
Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad, the light of all lights,
وسِرِّ الأسرارِ ، وسيدِ الأبرارِ
the secret of all secrets, the leader of the righteous,
وزَيْنِ المُرْسَلِينَ الأخيارِ ، وأكرمِ مَنْ أظلمَ عليهِ الليلُ وأشرقَ عليهِ النهارُ
the adornment of the noble messengers, and the one upon whom the night falls and the day rises.
بينما كانت المجموعة الأولى تتلو الصلوات، كانت المجموعة الأخرى تنصت في سكون
وبمجرد أن تنتهي المجموعة الأولى من الصلوات، تشرع المجموعة الأخرى في تلاوة الصلوات، وهكذا يسير الأمر بينهما في تناغم
كان الأمر في غاية الحماس
يجذب الانتباه
ويأسر القلوب تماماً
ما كان مني إلا أنني لم اتمالك دموعي من فرط المشاعر في هذا المشهد الذي كنت فيه
كنت في مرحلة اتخاذ قرار، حيث كان لدي طفل رضيع بلغ عمره آنذاك شهر واحد
وقد رزقني الله سبحانه وتعالي بعد ابني هذا ثلاث بنات
وانتهى بي الأمر أنا وأسرتي إلى الانتقال والاستقرار هنا في مدينة فاس منذ خمسة أشهر
Over time, and through the blessings of its founder, Fez became a significant intellectual and spiritual center
in the history of Islamic civilization, with its schools, such as the University of al-Qarawiyyin,
which housed many righteous individuals and lovers of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
This enduring love for sending blessings upon our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) continues to this day.
it is exemplified by the reciters of Dala’il al-Khayrat in Fez,
who are distinguished by their unique way of reciting the book.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِهِ بَحْرِ أَنْوَارِكَ
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his family, the ocean of Your lights,
وَمَعْدِنِ أَسْرَارِكَ وَلِسَانِ حُجَّتِكَ وَعَرُوسِ مَمْلَكَتِكَ
the treasury of Your secrets, the voice of Your proof, the jewel of Your kingdom,
وَإِمَامِ حَضْرَتِكَ وَخاتَمِ أَنْبِيَائِكَ صَلَاةً تَدُومُ بِدَوَامِكَ
the leader in Your divine presence, and the seal of Your prophets, bestow upon him blessings that endure with Your eternity,
وَتَبْقَى بِبَقَائِكَ صَلَاةً تُرْضِيكَ وَتُرْضِيهِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
and remain with Your everlastingness—blessings that please You and please him, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

The Reciters of Dala’il Al-Kahyrat
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله وهو كان النظام القديم
There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. That was the old tradition.
كان أبونا الله يرحمه في سيدي مولاي إدريس
May Allah have mercy on my father—he is with Sidi Moulay Idris.
في الصباح مُبًكِّراً نقرأ الأسماء كل يوم قبل صلاة الفجر
Every morning, before Fajr prayer, we recite the names.
نقرأ أسماء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حينما نقرأ كم دليل حتى نصلي صلاة الفجر
We mention the names of the Prophet ---- as we read a certain number of Dalils until it is time for Fajr.
وعندنا يوم الجمعة نقرأ دلائل الخيرات من أوله إلى آخره يختم
On Fridays, we complete the full recitation of Dala’il al-Khayrat from beginning to end.
ويوم السبت أيضاً لأننا سمعنا أشخاص
We also recite it on Saturdays because we heard from pious individuals
رحمة الله عليهم يقولون كان النبي يقول أيضاً الله أعلم
—may Allah have mercy on them—that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reportedly said, Allah knows best,
يقول أكثروا عليَّ من الصلاة يوم السبت لأن اليهود تكون تنشغل بسبي
“Send abundant blessings upon me on Saturday, for the Jews are occupied with their Sabbath.”
لهذا نحن جعلنا أيضاً يوم السبت قراءة لدلائل الخيرات
For this reason, we dedicated Saturdays as well to the recitation of Dala’il al-Khayrat.
والفقراء يوم الأحد يكون لهم راحة يقول لهم خذوا راحة يردوا النفس
As for Sundays, they are a day of rest for the fuqara’ (spiritual seekers), allowing them to pause and rejuvenate.
وصل على قطب الوجود محمد
And send blessings upon Muhammad, the axis of existence.
صلاة بها تمحوا عني كل ذلت
A prayer that erases all our faults.
لا اله الا الله ... لا اله الا الله
There is no deity but Allah...there is no deity but Allah
محمد رسول الله
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
حتما ولابد أن تقرأ دلائل الخيرات في المغرب
تقرأها أيام الأسبوع الإثنين والثلاثاء والأربعاء وفي يوم الجمعة عند مولي إدريس
على ناحية أخرى هناك مجلس آخر العدد فيه مضاعف
في جميع المدينة وفي كل زاوية
والحاج يقرأه كل يوم ولا أحد يعلم ذلك
حتى أهل المغرب أنفسهم
هناك 7 أو 11 شخص
يطوفون المدينة من أحل هذا الجمع، ثم يقيمون مجلسا أوسع
كأن هناك كتائب سرية من أجل نشر الصلاوات
طوال الوقت كان الأمر يجري في عروقهم مجرى الدم
إنهم يتنفسون: اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد
المُريد هو الذي يقرأ يومياً ليس بالمناسبات
The murid is one who recites daily, not just on special occasions.
نحن كل يوم عندنا عيد بمولانا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كل يوم
For us, every day is a celebration of our master, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
الصلاة على النبي تكون مستمرة على طول الدوام
Sending blessings upon the Prophet is a continuous and unceasing practice,
لكي أيضاً المريد يتعلم ويأتي أيضاً الحفظ بالتكرار
Through this consistency, the murid learns, and memorization comes through repetition.
إن لم تداوم كيف تحفظ؟
If you do not persist, how will you ever retain it?
يعني العمل كان ينفق العمل اللي عندهم الصلاة على الحبيب سبحان الله
Their work was devoted to sending blessings upon the beloved—glory be to Allah.
كانوا صادقين على حسب ما كان يشوفه في يوم
They were sincere, they were acting according to what they witnessed in their daily lives.
عشناه فيهم عشنا معهم عشان فيهم وبيهم سبحان الله
We lived among them, experienced life with them, and through them—glory be to Allah.
يا لطيف يا لطيف
O Allah! The Most Gentle, O Most Subtle.
قراءة أهل فاس لدلائل الخيرات
هي شيء لم نسمعه من قبل
وهذا هو السؤال:
كيف لهم أن يقرأون الكتاب بهذا الاتقان؟
إنه كتاب كبير جدا للقراءة
يحتاج من 3 إلى 4 ساعات للانتهاء من قراءة الكتاب كاملاً
دلائل الخيرات إذا أردت أن تقرأ جيداً بالترتيل جيد من أوله إلى آخره تأخذ أربع ساعات ونصف
Reciting Dala’il al-Khayrat properly, with a well-paced and melodious recitation from beginning to end, takes about four and a half hours.
ولكن يكون بطريقة جيدة
But it should be done with care and devotion.
اللهم صلى على صاحب الشفاعة
O Allah, send blessings upon the one granted intercession.
كيف يمكنهم اتباع نفس الإيقاع؟
نفس النغمة؟ نفس المدود؟ نفس الوقفات؟
بينما في بعض الكلمات لا يقرأون بالفطرة، بل يقومون بمد الكلمات
على سبيل المثال في كلمة "السراج" يقومون بمد حرف الـ "أ"
السراج المنير، الصادق الامين
The Radiant Lamp, The Truthful and Trustworthy
وبينما يوجد حرف الألف في كلمات أخرى، فإنهم يمدونها بهذه الطريق فقط في كلمة "السراج"
وهذا أمر محير للغاية
من الذي أرشدهم لذلك؟
تعلمت أن الشيوخ الذين كُنا معهم أبي أيضاً
I learned from the Sheikhs we were with, including my father,
وهو أيضاً أخذ عن أخذ عن فلان نحن كل العائلة كل العائلة كل هذا هو بابها
who received his knowledge from his teacher, who in turn received it from another—this is our family’s tradition, passed down through generations.
هذا نحن خلقنا ونحن صغار وجدنا دلائل الخيرات في المنزل
We grew up finding Dala’il al-Khayrat in our home from a young age.
وهو في الأصل البيت الذي لا يوجد فيه كتاب دلائل الخيرات لا قيمة له
In fact, a house without Dala’il al-Khayrat has no real value.
لأنه سنو خصه يكون في الدار يخصه يكون القرآن تان واحد هو دلائل الخيرات
He always had to be at home, with the Quran and Dalā'il al-Khayrāt by his side.
إن الصلاة على الحبيب تُقضي لك كل شيء
Sending blessings upon the لاeloved fulfills all your needs.
تكون من قلبك ولا من غير قلبك
Whether it comes from your heart or not, its effect remains.
إذا احترت في حاجة إذا كنت تريد غرض تقضي الغرض
If you are ever in doubt or in need of something, send blessings, and your need will be fulfilled.
سبحان الله
SubḥānAllāh
وجميعهم يحفظونه عن ظهر قلب
الله أكبر
هذا شيء لم أره من قبل في حياتي
نحن كنا نعيش مع هذا الناس سبحان الله العظيم كنا نشعر أننا نجد نفسنا في الجنة
We lived among such people—glory be to Allah the Almighty—and we felt as if we were in paradise.
كنا نقرأ ونشعر بِأَنَّنَا ليس جالسين على الأرض
As we recited, it felt as if we were lifted beyond the earth itself.
اللَّهُمَّ وَأَعْظِمْ بُرْهَانَهُ وَشَرِّفْ بُنْيَانَهُ وَأَبْلِجْ حُجَّتَهُ وَبَيِّنْ فَضِيلَتَهُ
O Allah, exalt his proof, elevate his station, illuminate his argument, and manifest his virtue.
اللَّهُمَّ وَتَقَبَّلْ شَفَاعَتَهُ فِي أُمَّتِهِ وَاسْتَعْمِلْنَا بِسُنَّتِهِ
Allah, accept his intercession for his Ummah, guide us to follow his Sunnah,
وَتَوَفَّنَا عَلَى مِلَّتِهِ وَاحْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِ
et us depart this world upon his faith, and resurrect us among his company,
وَتَحْتَ لِوَائِهِ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ رُفَقَائِهِ وَأَوْرِدْنَا حَوْضَهُ
beneath his banner, and among his companions. Grant us the honor of reaching his Hawd (sacred fountain),
وَاسْقِنَا بِكَأْسِهِ وَانْفَعْنَا بِمَحَبَّتِهِ اللَّهُمَّ آمِينَ
bless us with a drink from his cup, and let us benefit from our love for him. O Allah, Ameen.
بينما نحن في طريقنا إلى هُنا، نسيت هاتفي الجوال على متن الطائرة
ولذا لم أستطع التواصل مع أي شخص منذ اللحظة الذي وصلت فيها إلى مدينة فاس
وصلنا منتصف الليل، أنا وزوجتي وأبنائي الأربعة وليس معي هاتفي
أخذنا سيارة أجرة "تاكسي" وقد أقسم السائق أنه لن يتركنا حتى يطمئن علينا في سكن أنا وأسرتي ويكون مرتاحًا بشكأن أمرنا.
ثم شرع في التواصل مع ما يقرب من 30 شخصاً
وأقرب شقة وجدها كانت تبعد عن المسجد مسافة حوالي خمس دقائق سيرا على الأقدام
ذهبت إلى المسجد، ووجدت نفس المجموعة يقرأون دلائل الخيرات
مع نفس المرشد
نفس الأشخاص الذين من أجلهم انتقلت إلى المغرب، يجلسون في المسجد، وهو المسجد الذي صادفته من بين كل المساجد في فاس، أجد به أناس يقرأون دلائل الخيرات
لم يعد أحد يهتم لقراءة دلائل الخيرات في المدينة القديمة أثناء أيام الأسبوع، فقط يوم الجمعة
بيبنما هذه المجموعة نفسها يقرأونها كل يوم بانتظام
ومن ثم قد استقبلتني مدينة فاس استقبالا جميلا
أنا أشارك هذه القصة، لأنها ثمرة النية الصادقة، فأسأل الله أن يطهّر نوايانا ويجعلنا مخلصين.
Reciting Dala’il al-Khayrat is a responsibility,
through which its devotees preserve the legacy of sending blessings upon our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
For this reason, it is essential to have a leader who guides the recitation and ensures that everyone reads
at a level worthy of reaching our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him,
and gaining his acceptance. And this is the role of the leader.
مقدم المقدمين حين كان عندنا كثير مقدمين منذ كان أبي
He was the Muqaddam of the Muqaddams, leading many since my father’s time.
كان كثير وهو السبب الذي جمع كل المقدمين يجتمعون يوم الجمعة في مولى إدريس قراءة دلائل الخيرات من أوله إلى آخره
There were many, and he was the reason they all gathered every Friday at Mawlā Idrīs, reciting Dalā’il al-Khayrāt from beginning to end.
كل شخص يحتاج إلى مرشد
فهذا هو حال من لديه سيارة وجميع الركاب بداخلها، ولكن إذا لم يقدها، فهي بلا فائدة!
إذن، المُقدَّم هو الشخص الأول أو المسؤول الذي يقود قومه، ومجتمعاته، وكل الخيرات التي تقع تحت مسؤوليته.
إذن، المُقدَّم هو الشخص الأول أو المسؤول الذي يقود قومه، ومجتمعاته،
وكل الخيرات التي تقع تحت مسؤوليته.
وهذا يتوافق مع معنى قول الله:
إن الله وملائكته يصلون على النبي يا أيها الذين آمنوا صلوا عليه وسلموا تسليما
فإن الشروط التي حددتها الآية تكمن في لفظة "آمنوا"، وهذا تشريف للمؤمنين
إن الله لم يقل: "يا أيها الذين أسلموا"، بل حدد الذين آمنوا
كأن الله يدع الذين آمنوا إلى الولوج إلى حضرة استشعار أنوا الحبيب (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
ومما يلزم المؤمن من أجل استشعار الصلوات، هو وجود مرشد ودليل يدرب المريد على ذلك.
وهذا أشبه بحال الاستعانة بخبير في قيادة السيارات حتى يعلم من لا خبره له فنون القيادة
إذا لم أكن أنا من يقود السيارة وكان شخص آخر هو السائق، فيمكنه أن يعطيني المعلومات،
والاختبار النظري، وقوانين الطريق، وكل ما يتعلق بذلك.
فإن لم أكن أنا خبيرا بثادة السيارة، فلا يمكنني أن أدرب شخص آخر على ذلك.
ومن ثمّ، فإنني بحاجة إلى شخص له خبرة في ذلك، شخص يمتاك روح القيادة والقدرة على توجيه الاخر.
وهذه هي مهمة المقدم بالتحديد
يقف الحاج إسماعيل ويتوسط المجموعة
حتى يتأكد أن كل شخص في المجموعة يتلو بحسب دوره
وهذا هو الحاج إسماعيل كما نعرفه، مثابر ومحبوب لدى الجميع
فهو لن يجامل أحد، بل ربما ينقل شخص من مكانه إذا كان يجلس في مكان يخل بنظام التلاوة
فهو لديه القدرة على تمييز النشاذ بسهوله من بين صفوف الحاضرين
ولذا يمكنه تمييز الخلل في الإنشاد، ومن ثمّ ينقل الشخص من مكان إلى آخر
هذا مقدم هذا ما زال موجود ولكن مريض الآن
his one is a Muqaddam, still present but now ill.
هذا ميت هذا ميت هذا ميت
This one has passed, this one has passed, this one has passed…
إنك ميت وإنهم لميتون مرحلة انتقالية
"Indeed, you will die, and they too will die." It is a transitional phase
ما شاء الله
Mā shā’ Allāh.
In every region, we have a Muqaddam with a Zāwiyah (spiritual lodge).
Haj Isma‘il takes care of the Fuqarā’ (spiritual seekers) and tends to their needs,
as the senior Muqaddam of Dalā’il al-Khayrāt recitation in the city of Fes.
When we say Fuqarā’, we do not mean the materially poor, as one might assume.
Rather, in the sense of love and servitude to Allah, we are all in need of His grace and generosity, as affirmed in His words:
"O mankind, you are in need of Allah..." (Quran 35:15).
ويقوم الحاج إسماعيل بهذا الدور منذ ما يقرب من ٤٤ أربعة وأربعين عاماً حتى الآن
Haj Isma‘il has fulfilled this role for nearly 44 years and continues to do so to this day.
لقد كان الحاج نبراسا للطهارة والإخلاص والبراءة
الحج إسماعيل الدرجة الذي وصلها
Haj Isma‘il and the rank he has attained...
قيمته ما يعرف قدرها إلا الله وسيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم
His true worth is known only to Allah and our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
الحاج اسماعيل هو
The owner of Dala'il Al-Khayrat
ومن خلال جهوده، استمرت قراءة دلائل الخيرات قائمة حتى الآن هنا في مدينة فاس
إننا ندوام على قرائتها في كل مكان نقرأها في البيوت
ولكن الآن للأسف لم تعد قراءة الدلائل كما عهدناها
إننا بحاجة إلى إحياء قراءة الدلائل
ومن الأمور التي أتذكرها عن الحاج إسماعيل
هو يرفض أن تندثر قراءة دلائل الخيرات
إنه يسجل في دفتره اسم كل شخص يتغيب عن مجلس قراءة الدلائل
ويستمر في مراجعته، وأنا شاهدت ذلك بنفسي، وسألته: هل اسمي مكتوب؟
كيف تركونا آباءنا ونطلب من الله أن يكثر العدد وفيض المدد
Our forefathers left us this legacy, and we now pray to Allah to increase our numbers and grant us His abundant grace.
هذا هو الواجب علينا أن ننشر الصلاة على مولانا رسول الله
It is our duty to spread the practice of invoking blessings upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him),
نحبب الناس لأن كثير الناس لا يعرفون مقام سيدنا محمد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
and to inspire love for him in people's hearts, for many remain unaware of his true station.
وهو عنده المقام الأعلى
Yet, he holds the highest rank.
نجتمع على الله ونفترق على الله محبة في الله وفي رسول الله
We gather for the sake of Allah and part for His sake united in love for Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
الحاج إسماعيل كان يقرأ الدلائل من والده الله يرحمه
منذ كان في عمر الخامسة وكان يحفظ الدلائل عن والده
ويمكنه أن يخبرك إذا أتيت إلى حلقة الذكر متأخراً يأخذ الكتب ويخبرك في أي جزء تحديداً يقرأون
كل شيء من رسول الله مدد من رسول الله
All blessings flow from the Messenger of Allah is sustenance comes
أنا أعرف نفسي منذ خمس سنوات أبي يخذني معه إلى زاوية سيدي مسعود
I have known myself since I was five years old when my father used to take me to the Zāwiya of Sidi Masoud.
كان فيها الفقراء يأتون في صلاة الفجر
There, the poor would gather for Fajr prayer.
يصلون الفجر ويعطيك الشيخ صلاة واحدة تحفظها
hey would pray Fajr, and the Shaykh would teach a single supplication to memorize.
غداً تأتي يعطيك ثانية وأنت ماشي كانوا الجماعة التي شاهدناهم
Tomorrow, come again, and as you go, you will see the same group we saw.
كثير منهم حفاظ حافظين عن ظهر قلب وصلينا عندهم الحمد لله
Many among them had committed vast portions to heart. We prayed with them, alhamdulillāh.
سبحان الله سبحان كانوا يجلسون وعندما يقرأون
SubḥānAllāh, they would sit in deep devotion, and as they recited,
تظهر لهم صيغة يُغَيِّرُون تظهر لهم صيغة أخرى يرتفعون
a new invocation would emerge before them, and they would adopt it. Then another would manifest, lifting them to even greater spiritual heights.
كأن نقول دلائل الخيرات تصعد وتنزل على حسب سبحان المولى وملكه
It is as if Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt ascends and descends according to the will of the Almighty and His dominion.
اللهمَّ صلِّ على سيدنا محمدٍ وعلى آلِ سيدنا محمدٍ كما تنبغي الصلاةُ عليهِ
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his family in a manner befitting his rank. O Allah,
اللهمَّ صلِّ على سيـدنا محمدٍ وعلى آلِ سيدنا محمدٍ كما تَجِبُ الصلاةُ عليهِ
send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his family as is rightfully due to him.
أما شيخ أبي كان جاء عند أبي بالمنزل والمنزل صغير
My father's Sheikh once visited our home, though it was small.
جلسنا كمجموعة نقرأ دلائل الخيرات والشيخ كبير وجلسوا فتحوا قراءة دلائل الخيرات وجلست وسطهم
We gathered as a group to recite Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt, with the elderly shaykh seated among us.
وحين كنا نقرأ أتى واحد المكان تبدل النغمة تبدل تبديل ميزان
As we recited, something shifted—the rhythm changed, the melody transformed, and the balance altered.
شيخ سيدي علي الوزاني كل جمعة
Every Friday, we would listen to Shaykh Sidi Ali al-Wazzani.
سيدي علي الوزاني الفقرة التي زاده للخشوع
He introduced a passage to deepen our humility:
اللهم بخشوع القلوب عند السجود
O Allah, with the humility of hearts in prostration...
كانوا يقرأون نص الخشوع وبطريقة عادية
They would recite it with solemn devotion, much like a prayer:
مثل الصلوات اللهم صلِّ على صاحب الشفاعة
O Allah, send blessings upon the one granted intercession.
الحاج اسماعيل خرج بالصيغة الجازولية
Hajj Ismail come up with the Jazūliyya formula.
هذه الصيغة الجزولية صيغة الحج إسماعيل في الأصل
This Jazūlī style, in its purest form, was that of Hajj Isma'il.
سبحان الله جاء أبي ربنا يرحمه رحمه الله
Subḥān Allāh, my father—may Allah have mercy on him—
استح يعني ما زاللت صغير وتخرج بالصيغة
hesitated, thinking, “He is still young, yet he recites the formula.”
جاء الشيخ لكن قال له خليه هي هذه سبحان الله إنها جاءت عفوية
But the Sheikh said, “Let him be. It came naturally.”
سبحان الله أنا لا أشعر به وأنا غيرت
SubḥānAllāh, I wasn’t even aware of it, yet I desired it.
سبحان الله العظيم كلهم يلتفتوا إليه يبتسمون بعضهم
SubḥānAllāh al-ʿAẓīm (Glory be to Allah the Greatest)—everyone turned toward him, exchanging smiles.
وأنا غيرت ميزان القراءة سبحان الله وأنا لا أعرف
without realizing it, I had altered the rhythm of the recitation.
كان عمري 18 سنة وفي نفس الوقت كانوا يعلمونك
I was only 18 years old., At the same time, they were teaching me:
عدد كبير من أصدقاء طفولته مازالوا على قيد الحياة
رحم الله من انتقل منهم إلى جوار ربه
كثير منهم غادر المدينة
وتركوا المدينة القديمة
اشترى الحاج إسماعيل الحافلة
والتي تسع لثلاثين شخصاً
تخرج هذه الحافلة يومياً لزيارة أصدقاء طفولته في أماكنهم التي يقيمون بها
خاصة قبل العصر لتقلهم من أي مكان كانوا في إقامتهم حول المدينة وتجلبهم إلى المدينة القديمة
وفي وقت العصر تأخذهم إلى مولي إدريس
حتى يتسنى لهم قراءة الوِرد الخاص بهم من كتاب الدلائل
أيام الإثنين والثلاثاء والأربعاء والخميس
وفي يوم الجمعة، يقرأون كتاب الدلائل كاملاً
ثم يستقلون نفس الحافلة في العودة إلى منازلهم
دون أن يتحملوا أي مصروفات أو أجر كل هذا من أجل الحفاظ على عادة قراءة دلائل الخيرات
وهذه هي خدمته وتفانيه تجاه كتاب الدلائل إننا مدينون له بكل هذا
الله الله الله الله الله الله الله محمد رسول الله
Allāh, Allāh, Allāh… Allāh, Allāh, Allāh… Muḥammad Rasūl Allāh.
الله ينفعنا بالبركة للجميع نحن لا نحتقر أي عبد كلنا عباد الله
May Allah bless us all with this barakah. We do not look down on any servant, for we are all servants of Allah.
اللي فيهم البركة سبحانه وتعالى يرحمنا بالمرحوم فينا
Among us are those whom Allah has blessed, and through them, may He grant us His mercy.
واللهم غلب المصلحين على المفسدين ولا يحرمنا البركة فينا
O Allah, let the righteous triumph over the corrupt, and do not deprive us of the blessings You have placed among us.
ما عارفين عند مين فينا مراة او رجل، ضعيف، غني
We do not know where true strength or wealth lies—only You do.
كنت دائماً أقرأ كتاب دلائل الخيرات، أن قدمه أحد الأصدقاء لي كان ذلك من أربع أو خمس سنوات
في عام 2014 كنت أنا وصديقي طلحة ندرس معًا في الجامعة وتوطدت علاقتنا كأصدقاء
ثم قال إنه سيذهب إلى المغرب، إلى مدينة فاس في المغرب
وكان يحضر مجالس الصلوات وقد دعاني إلى هناك
ووافقت بالطبع
واحد الفقراء صالح، طاعنا في السن لم أقابله، لا أظن أنكم قابلتوه، وقد توفي منذ عامان
قال أنا سأخذك للحاج وقلت كل شيء على ما يرام سأتي في وقت لاحق، قال لا سيكون في الزاوية ويمكنك أن تقابله هناك
ولذلك اتبعناه، ولم يكن بعيداً عن مكان مولي إدريس في الزاوية
قال أحد الفقراء الحاج هنا
دخل الحاج من الباب ورأيناه هو لم يتكلم لكن وجهه كان منوراً
يمتكل وجهاً صبوحاً منيراً جميلاً اقتربنا منه جميعاً لا يسمح للناس بتقبيل يديه
ثم دخل وجلس بجوار المحراب
فجلست إلى جواره وأخبرته: سمعتك تقرأ دلائل الخيرات، كنت في إنجلترا منذ وقت طويل وجئت هنا لأقابلك لأول مرة
وكنت متحمس جداً لهذه الزياة التي تمت بالفعل
و بدأ هو
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet.
وبدأ هو
تجربة حقيقة تأسر القلب وترتعد معها الفرائص، كنت في غاية التعجب
كنت بصحبة بعض الناس، وأقمت هذه الليلة ثم أقمت اليوم التالي ولمدة أسبوعين
ثم استأذنته في العمرة، فقال لي الحج اذهب وأذن لي، وكانت مدة العمرة عشرة أيام أو أقل
وفقدت جواز سفري هناك!
الشيخ خضر كان في العمرة (جواز سفره) وفلوسه وكل شيء كل شيء
Sheikh Khizar was on Umrah when he lost his passport, money—everything.
اتصل على الحاج إسماعيل قال له اوراقي ضاعت، وفيها اوراق السفر واوراق أخرى
He called Hajj Ismail and said, "I've lost my papers, including my travel documents and other important documents."
قال له كل شيء وقع ما تدور عليه
Hajj Ismail replied, "If they're lost, don't bother looking for them."
قال له ادخل بيتك واغلق بابك ولا تخرج ولا تقلق
Then he added, "Go home, lock your door, stay inside, and don’t worry."
قال له عندك يومين أو ثلاثة أيام، يومين أو ثلاثة أيام والورق سيأتي إلى مكانك
“You have two or three days. In that time, the papers will find their way back to you.”
ذهبت إلى جدة، وحصلت على مستندات السفر وتم إلغاء الباسبور، ومازال يقول لي لا تقلق
كنت في مكة ولدي أوراق السفر، كنت في الحرم الساعة التاسعة صباحاً
وتلقيت اتصالا من السفارة قال لي على الهانف: لم ألغي جواز سفرك
أحضر إلينا هذه الأوراق واستلم جواز سفرك، لقد وجدناه
أخذت الطائرة في اليوم التالي متجها إلى المغرب أقمت هناك لمدة ثلاثة شهور يونيو ويوليو وأغسطس
هذا كان الحاج
في هذا العام
أخبرت الحاج أنني رأيت أماكن في المغرب أكثر مما رأيت في انجلترا
سيد العرب والعجم جسمه مقدساً معطراً مطهراً منوراً في البيت والحرم
The Master of Arabs and non-Arabs, his body is sacred, fragrant, purified, and radiant—whether in his home or the sacred sanctuary.
شمس الضحى بدر الدجى صدر العلا نور الهدى كهف الورى مصباح الظلم
He is the sun of the forenoon, the full moon of the night, the pinnacle of honor, the light of guidance, the refuge of creation, and the lamp in the darkness.
جميل الشيم شفيع الأمم صاحب الجود والكرم
He embodies noble virtues, the intercessor for nations, and the epitome of generosity and grace.
والله عاصمه وجبريل خادمه والبراق مركبه والمعراج سفره
Allah is his guardian, Jibril is his attendant, Al-Buraq is his mount, and
اللهم صل على مفتاح دار السلام
O Allah, send blessings upon the key to the Abode of Peace.
اللهم صل على الشفيع في جميع الأنام
O Allah, send blessings upon the intercessor for all humankind.
كتبت كتابي قبل نطقي بخاطري
I penned my book before my thoughts took shape,
وقلت لقلبي أنت بالشوق أعلم فسلم عليهم يا كتابي وقل لهم
And told my heart, "You know longing best."So greet them, O my book, and say to them...
بارك الله في الحاج إسماعيل وأن يرزقه عمراً مديداً ويتقبل منه هذا الجهد العظيم
وأن تثمر جهوده ويكتب لها الانتشار من هذا المكان لتصل إلى العالمين إن شاء الله
فإن هذا مما يشفي الصدور وتفتح القلوب على حب رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
وهذا مما لم يقدرعلى فعله أي كتاب آخر
والصلاة على النبي شيء كبير
Sending blessings upon the Prophet is of immense significance.
من بان عليك فضله وجبت عليك خدمته
When one's virtue becomes apparent to you, serving them becomes your duty.
لأن يوجد أُنَاس واقفين في باب التجريد وخير
There are those who stand at the door of Tajrīd (spiritual detachment) and goodness.
عندي أعمال عندي تجارة ولكن حين وقفت ليس من نفسي
I have work, I have trade, but when I stopped, it was not by choice.
ويوجد ناس لازم الأسباب إن لم يأتي السبب لم يأكل
And there are those who depend on worldly means—if the means do not come, they do not eat.
ويوجد ناس واقفين في باب التجريد
There are those who stand at the door of Tajrīd (spiritual detachment)
تريد أن تفعل شيء لا يسخرك أي شيء
If you wish to act, let nothing enslave you—
هو يرزقك حيث لا تحتسب
He provides for you from where you least expect.
الإمام الجزولي كان يقول
Imam Al-Jazuli would say:
اللَّهُمَّ أَفْرِدْنِي لِمَا خَلَقْتَنِي لَهُ
"O Allah, dedicate me solely to that for which You created me,
وَلَا تَشْغَلْنِي بِمَا تَكَفَّلْتَ لِي بِهِ
and do not preoccupy me with that which You have already guaranteed for me.
وَلَا تَحْرِمْنِي وَأَنَا أَسْأَلُكَ
Do not deprive me while I ask of You,
وَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِي وَأَنَا أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ
Do not deprive me while I ask of You, and do not punish me while I seek Your forgiveness."
وأيضاً الله سبحانه وتعالى يقول في كتابه العزيز الحكيم
And Allah, the Almighty, declares in His Noble Book, in Surah Adh-Dhariyat:
يقول في سورة الذاريات (وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنْطِقُونَ)
"And in the heaven is your provision and that which you are promised. Then by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, indeed, it is truth—just as certain as your speech
هذا كلام الله، الله يقسم للعباد و احنا نخاف من الرزق.
This is the word of Allah—He swears by it for His servants, yet we still fear for our sustenance.
كُنْ مع الله يكون معك. كن مع الله يكن معك
Be with Allah, and He will be with you. Be with Allah, and He will be with you.
ولكن الحمد لله بخير بخير بخير بخير الحمد لله
Praise be to Allah—I am well, well, well, well. All praise is due to Allah.
هذا من فضل الله ومن فضل رسول الله
This is by the grace of Allah and the blessings of His Messenger.
ولكن من بان عليك فضله وجبت عليك خدمته
When someone's favor upon you becomes evident, serving them becomes your duty.
May Allah's peace and blessings be upon our master, Muahmmad
يقول الله تعالى
"Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and springs." (َQur'an 5: 15)
وهذا وصف لمن يخشى الله ويتحلى بالتقوى فلهم الجنة وعيونها كما في الآية
والحاج واحد من بين هؤلاء الذين يتحلون بالتقوى في كل وقت
"And they take what Allah gives them."
والحاج مثال صادق على كذلك لأنه ليس لديه تعلق بالدنيا
فهو يترفع عن هذه الأشياء الدنيوية يرضى بما قسمه الله له ويقنع ويفرح له ويشكر الله على كل ما آتاه
وهذا قال عنه الله تعالى: إنهم كانوا قبل ذلك محسنين
وهذا ما يفعله الحاج هو محسن في كل أفعاله
ثم يقول الله: إنهم كانوا قليل من الليل ما يهجعون
وهذا ما يفعله الحاج تماماً
هذا هو عبد الإله تحدث معه
والله لا يكون المؤمن مؤمناً حتى يحب لأخية ما يحب لنفسه
By Allah, a believer is not truly a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.
ولو ما عندك الابتسامة في وجه أخيك صدقة
Even if you have nothing, a smile at your brother’s face is charity.
كلمة طيبة صدقة إماطة الأذى عن الطريق صدقة
A kind word is charity. Removing harm from the path is charity.
قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُهَا أَذًى
"A good word and forgiveness are better than charity followed by harm."
ولكن اِخْتَر قولاً وفعلاً.
So choose your words and actions wisely.
الاسلام هو فعل الإسلام ليس صلاة فقط
Islam is action—Islam is not just prayer.
إذا صح عملك صَحَّتْ صلاتك.
If your actions are righteous, your prayer will be as well.
إنه يتنفس الدلائل، إنه يحلم بالدلائل
إن قوته الدلائل ،هو يمشي بالدلائل
إنه المثال الحي على كتاب دلائل الخيرات إنه الحاج إسماعيل حفظه الله
O Allah, Lord of the worlds, Ameen
اللهم احفظه لأجل خدمة هذا الكتاب ولحفظ هذه العادة هنا في المغرب
اللهم صلِّ على سيدنا محمدٍ وعلى آل سيدنا محمدٍ
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon his family—
صلاةً يعطف به قلبه على قلبي ويمد بها سره سري
A blessing that softens his heart toward mine, that extends his light into my soul
حتى يزول عيبي اللهم أحببني له وأحببه لي
until my flaws disappear. O Allah, let me love him, and let him love me.
وارفع الحجاب بيني وبينه حتى نلقاك
Lift the veil between us until I meet You.
ولكن من كثرة الصلاة على النبي، لازم ترسخ المحبة في قلبك لرسول الله
But true love for the Prophet must take root in your heart through abundant prayers upon him.
ونحن سبحان الله أنا أعرف نفسي منذ الطفولة وأنا أحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
By the grace of Allah, I have known myself since childhood, and I have always loved the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
ولكن المحبة لو هو لم يكن يُحِبُني كيف أنا أحبه
It is love. If he did not love me, how could I love him?
إذا أحب الله عبداً خلق ونسب إليه وجعل الخير على يديه
When Allah loves a servant, He creates them, attributes them to Himself, and makes goodness flow through their hands.
والملائكة يحبونك والأشجار يحبونك جميع المخلوقات تحبك
The angels love them, the trees love them, and all creation loves them.
كل شيء من الله وما توفيقي إلا بالله سبحان الله
Everything is from Allah, and my success is only through Him. Subhan Allah.
محبة رسول الله في قلبنا الله اللهم زِدْنَا وَلَا تَنْقُصْنَا
The love of the Messenger of Allah fills our hearts. O Allah, increase it and never let it fade.
اللهم زِدْنَا وَلَا تَنْقُصْنَا
O Allah, increase it and never let it fade.
The goal is not for everyone to become like Haj Ismail
in his devotion to invoking blessings upon our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, through Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt.
Rather, the first goal is to recognize Allah’s immense favor upon
His servants in granting them the blessing of sending prayers upon His Beloved, peace and blessings be upon him.
The second goal is to strive to emulate the righteous
by making the remembrance of the Prophet a daily practice, increasing our prayers upon him abundantly.
For in it lies all goodness—both in this world and the Hereafter.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 310 times in this episode.
