Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him.
Oh believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him,
and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.
O Allah, send Your blessings upon the one through whom secrets were unveiled, lights radiated, and realities ascended.
O Allah, invoke blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the Opener of what was sealed and the Seal of what previously revealed.
The supporter of truth through truth, the guide to Your Straight Path.
Bestow blessings upon him and his family in a manner befitting his lofty rank and immense honor.
O Allah, Invoke blessings upon our Master Muhammad.
And I make it in Chinese…
Invoking blessings (salawat) upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)
serves as a unifying act for all Muslims,
transcending differences in sect,
race, and language since ancient times.
O Allah, invoke abundant blessing and peace upon the one whose name is our Master Muhammad,
may Your peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Invoking blessings upon our Prophet (peace be upon him) undoubtedly holds a profound impact on our lives;
otherwise, Allah would not have commanded it in the Quran.
All goodness and wellbeing originates from invoking blessings upon the Messenger, may Allah bless and grant him peace.
However, does this mean that Muslims unanimously agree on the meaning of prayer, its purpose,
and its benefits in their lives?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came with the first form (of salawat).
Through it, our sins are forgiven and our affairs are amended.
It raises our remembrance and improves our conditions.
Through it, all goodness is bestowed upon us.
Unfortunately, although there is agreement among Muslims on invoking salawat upon the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family,
differences remain regarding the significance and impact of these salawat on our lives.
How can one disregard the words of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family,
and follow the words of someone who spoke more than a century after his death?
Is it permissible for us to come up with a specific form of salawat upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)?
Are we allowed to describe the Prophet as our Master (Sayyedna) or not?
This journey is not an attempt to explore the reasons for the disagreement.
The reason is simply known.
It is that we do not realize his reality (peace be upon him and his family) in a manner that befits his high status and lofty rank.
To this effect, we dedicate this journey
to knowing the reality of the Messenger’s lofty rank, may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace
through fathoming the true essence of invoking salawat on him.
O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and his family and grant them peace.
O Allah, send blessing on Muhammad and his family and grant them peace.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad and his family,
As you commanded us to invoke blessings on him
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad and his family in a manner the befits his lofty status
We will try to explore the meanings of invoking salawt on our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
To remove the doubts that hinder us from benefiting from its blessings
To shed light on some of the features of his great status
And the means of getting to know him
So that we can truly love him
Thus, we sincerely follow him and behave accordingly, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him and his family.
We need to promote the practice of revering the person of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
They wanted to tarnish the Prophet’s status, peace be upon him,
by defaming some of his virtues, wrongly thinking that this might lead to polytheism
So, they falsely claimed that greatness is not attributed to the Messenger
He is, in their argument, like a postman who delivered the message and left.
The status of the Messenger of Allah is high-above all of these false claims.
If the child innately knows the value of his parents, thus the value of the Messenger is greater than the value of one’s father and mother.
In this respect, we will present the lofty status of the Prophet’s household and why we accompany them in our salawat on him.
We will respond to the doubts that have been raised about his great value.
Some people are even reluctant to name their sons after Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein!
This is actually an erroneous and baseless reason.
We will explore experiences of his love.
And we will delve into the meanings of his life now
By shedding light on his noble state, and our ongoing connection with him
until we enter Paradise under his banner, may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace.
Oh Allah, convey my greetings and peace to the soul of our Master Muhammad
O Allah, the same as I believed in our Master Muhammad without meeting him,
I ask You to not deprive me of being with him in Paradise.
We will travel around the world to meet people who are spiritually connected to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him
They constantly invoke salawat on him
Realizing that salawat on him entail abundant goodness.
Because by invoking salawat on the Prophet
they realize that he is the guide to goodness, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him and his family.
Dalil Al-Khayrāt (The Guide to Goodness) Episode 1
In the name of Allah, we begin… Let us join together in sending Salawat upon the Prophet (PBUH)
O Lord, Shower Your blessings and peace upon Your beloved, the best of all creation.
O Allah, Send Your blessings and peace upon him
The beginning of every person shapes the path their life will follow.
Whoever learns to love salawat upon our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him and his family, from a young age,
will experience it in a unique and profound way.
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
May God bless him and grant him peace
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
May God bless him and grant him peace
Since the day we were born, we have been hearing
the formulas of salawat upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessing be upon him
in different dialects,
in various tones
in multiple expressions.
حاء الرحمة the Ha'(ح) of Mercy
For example, when an old person likes something, such as a fragrance of perfume
they say, “O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.”
If someone sees a beautiful rose, they say, “O Allah, send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.”
If someone sees the full moon, they say, “O Allah, send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.”
Since my early childhood, I realized that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
is a symbol of goodness, love and beauty in the full sense of the word.
By the grace of God Almighty, since I was young
I grew up in an environment and in a country where salawat on the Prophet, peace be upon him, were widespread
This is in addition to the widespread of gatherings of invoking salawat on the beloved, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
and I used to attend them.
O my master, O messenger of Allah
In our country, since childhood, we used to listen to our Sheikhs during lessons and sessions.
They used to chant salawat for the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, his family and companions.
They used to chant salawat for the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, his family and companions.
They used to circulate stories and tales that instill in the hearts the greatness of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
And that which draws us towards the attachment to him, peace and blessings be upon him, his family and companions.
I grew up in a house
A house of knowledge
may God bless our master Muhammed and his family
So, in this house that filled up with application
learning And receiving knowledge,
it was deeply rooted in my heart and soul.
And it was reflected in my conduct, maintaining preservation, perseverance, and addiction
To invoking salawat on the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the morning and evening.
Since the day the world was created
If you want to protect your child, teach him to invoke salawat on the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
And the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, will be watching over him, protecting,
Guiding, and leading him out of the darkness of tribulations in this time and in every time.
O Allah, Lord of what is lawful and what is unlawful,
Lord of the Sacred Monument,
Lord of the Sacred House
Lord of the Corner and Ibrahim’s Station.
Convey our greetings and peace to our Master and Leader, Muhammad.
The worst form of stinginess
is that one in whose presence the Prophet’s name is mentioned, yet they do not respond in invoking salwat upon him.
Really, how does a Muslim hear the name of his Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace
and then turns his face away and talks to those around him
and does not care!
When one hears the name of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace
this would be considered stinginess but, it is even the worst kind of stinginess.
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad, every time he is remembered by those who remember him.
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad, every moment he is forgotten by those who forget remembering him.
every moment he is forgotten by those who forget remembering him.
I came to know the value of sending blessings upon the Prophet
when I knew the value of the Prophet himself, peace be upon him.
We have maintained sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him,
and it has accompanied us, embraced us, and brought us to where we are now.
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
Blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad
The history of Muslims is closely linked to sending blessings upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him
This is because such blessings are the light that opens the doors for them to connect with him, peace be upon him,
and with Allah, Almighty
Muslim Scholars, accordingly, have authored many books about the virtues of these salawat
Explaining their meanings; and have collected the various forms of these salawat mentioned in the texts, recommending its circulation.
These included one which stands out, and it is known to every lover of our Master, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family
When I first began to learn about “Dalail Al-khayrat”, I was a pre-school child.
I used to notice my late father, may Allah have mercy on him, who was an engineer,
and of course, the work in architectural engineering was a strenuous job.
Despite this, I would find that he always kept two books on his nightstand, which never changed; namely, the Qur'an and another book beside it.
I would often find him reading this second book on Friday mornings,
spending about an hour or an hour and a half before heading out to offer the Friday prayer
Therefore, I became very curious about this book that he never seemed to get enough of.
Most people, once they read a book, put it away on a shelf and never look at it again. But this book was a different case!
So, I took the book and began to read it. I discovered that it was filled with salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad.
May Allah have mercy on our father and grant him divine favor and pleasure.
He used to organize a gathering for reading Dalail Al-Khayrat in our home in Sudan.
Every Friday, from the Fajr prayer until sunrise, we would gather to read Dalail Al-Khayrat,a book of salawat on the Master of Masters.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom sins are erased by praying for him.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom prayers for him grant the ranks of the righteous.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom praying for him brings mercy to the young and the old.
It was Dalā'il Al-Khayrāt and Shawāriq al-Anwār, books dedicated to invoke salawat upon the Chosen Prophet.
Some may wonder why we chose this particular book.
In our journey to learn about our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family,
we found that “Dalail Book” is a concise summary of the meanings of getting
to know the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
In truth, Dalail Al-Khayrat can be seen as an introduction to acquaint people with the Master of humanity.
The various formulations of salawat upon the Prophet are a way to know the Master of Masters.
It is the first and foremost reference book for sending salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
The author of Dalail Al-Khayrat
our master Ibn Sulayman Al-Jazuli, may Allah be pleased with him,
may Allah reward him generously for guiding us toward goodness.
The wonder lies in the fact that Dalail Al-Khayrat is entirely about sending salawat upon the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
It could have been titled, "The Pathways to Goodness through Prayers Upon the Messenger",
because no goodness exists without its root being in prayers upon the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, a prayer that honors his resting place
And honors his outcome
And grants us, on the Day of Judgment, his desired goal and Your pleasure
This prayer is in great reverence of Your right, O our Master Muhammad
So, what does Dalail Al-Khayrat mean? It refers to the collective pathways that lead to all goodness.
When you come to know the Prophet deeply,
you are firmly on the path toward attaining all goodness
and illuminating your heart, for the radiant lights shine within it.
This book has instilled love for our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the hearts of the children, women, men, and households.
There is no righteous person or saint who does not read Dalail Al-Khayrat.
It is indispensable.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the light of lights
the secret of secrets
the leader of the righteous, the ornament of the chosen Messengers
the most honored one upon whom the night falls and the day shines.
There is no book that has spread between the East and the West,
like Dalail Al-Khayrat by Imam Al-Jazuli, beloved by both the elite and the common folk.
The book “Dalail Al-Khayrat” which focuses on salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
has enjoyed widespread popularity in the Islamic world.
Among the regions where it has become prevalent is the Arabian Gulf.
In countries like the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
we find that in the UAE, it was widely used in mosques and among the elderly. For instance,
the ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakhbout bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the elder brother of Sheikh Zayed,
the ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakhbout bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the elder brother of Sheikh Zayed,
was keen for his grandchildren and descendants to read Dalail Al-Khayrat, as were scholars.
Its influence even extended to popular culture, appearing in traditional poetry and romantic expressions.
One poet, for example, remarked about someone who read Dalail Al-Khayrat,
saying, "Their face shines like the light of a lamp."
He used this imagery to romantically describe a woman who read Dalail Al-Khayrat,
portraying her as radiant, this was particularly common among young people.
Even elderly women in the UAE are known to have memorized Dalail Al-Khayrat by heart, or at least most of it,
due to their frequent recitation. Some would complete it daily, weekly, or even less than this.
This is often mentioned in relation to women, especially since they were known to memorize Dalail Al-Khayrat.
It’s not a consensus;
it’s a divine secret placed by Allah.
A divine secret.
This goes without a mere sense of doubt.
Who made the people of Iraq,
the people of Levant,
and the people of Indonesia in the East,
as well as Malaysia, the Philippines, and India, read Dalail Al-Khayrat?
It was translated and widely read.
A divine secret that Allah placed in this book.
From its inception in the 9th century AH to now, the 15th century AH, people have continued to read it.
Allah decreed that Dalail Al-Khayrat would gain wide acceptance due to the sincerity of its author.
Sincerity, after all, is one of the greatest factors in spreading the knowledge of a scholar.
This book is a blessing and a gift from Allah, who made it a mean for us to connect with
our master, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Imam Al-Jazuli himself went to the ancient library in Fez,
where he gathered books about sending prayers upon the Prophet and carefully extracted their contents.
He compiled treasures relating to the prophetic qualities, names, and virtues,
including descriptions of his unique characteristics and perfections,
as well as his merits and virtues, making it a book that could suffice a person without any other.
O Allah, send blessings upon the perfect moon.
O Allah, send blessings upon the light in the darkness.
O Allah, send blessings upon the key to the abode of peace.
O Allah, send blessings upon the intercessor for all of humanity.
The story of Dalail Al-Khayrat reflects the significant role
that sending salawat upon our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family,
plays in the life of a Muslim, even one who was not born Muslim.
In fact, from the very beginning of my journey into Islam,
I learned to send salawat upon the Prophet,
because I was introduced to the religion by
a Scottish scholar named Sheikh Abdul Qadir.
Was passed down in Islam by Sheikh Muhammad bin Habib from Morocco.
Morocco is renowned for its deep love for the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
He had a collection of poetry. Among his poems
is one he composed in the Rawdah Sharifah (the Noble Garden)
in front of the Prophet’s grave. It reads:
It reads:
"We are present in the Garden of the Messenger,
seeking his pleasure
and a gracious acceptance.
We have come to you, O best of those who are sought for refuge,
in humility and submission,
and in awe.
We have come to you, O best of those who are sought for refuge,
in humility and submission and in awe.
"Allah, Allah, Allah, O our Lord,
Allah, Allah, Allah, with all Your grace."
What does exhort a Muslim to sending salawat upon the Prophet,
peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in this profound way?
Scholars have said that every person must
send salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at least once in their lifetime,
because it is a command from Allah, the Almighty. And we Muslims, in all of our prayers,
in the five daily prayers, send blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
If one does not send prayers upon him in the final tashahhud, their prayer is incomplete, and if it is incomplete, it is invalid.
Thus, the practice of sending prayers upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has been firmly established.
It is an obligatory act.
If you stand between the hands of your Lord, how could you mention Him without mentioning the Messenger of Allah?
The blessings of the Merciful Lord, His closest angels, the Prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs, and the righteous,
and all that glorifies You, O Lord of the Worlds,
be upon our master Muhammad ibn Abdullah, the Seal of the Prophets and the Leader of the Messengers.
Invoking blessings upon our Prophet (peace be upon him)
undoubtedly holds a profound impact on our lives; otherwise, Allah would not have commanded it in the Quran.
He said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace."
Allah did not say that He and His angels sent blessings—past tense.
Rather, He used the present tense "send blessings" to indicate continuity and permanence.
The verb in the present tense signifies ongoing and unending action,
happening in every moment,
From the lowest of the low to eternity everlasting,
there are continuous blessings from Allah and His angels upon His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
This is one of the reasons for the excellence of this nation.
"You were the best nation", this distinction was achieved
through several causes, and this is one of them.
The salawat upon the Prophet continue even in the Barzakh (intermediate state) after they have passed away.
And Allah, the Most Generous, is far too gracious to turn away a servant who sends salawat upon His Beloved (PBUH)
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom sins are erased by praying for him.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom prayers for him grant the ranks of the righteous.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one through whom praying for him brings mercy to the young and the old.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wanted us to receive a portion of his blessings,
of what Allah granted him, so he guided us to send salawat upon him.
Before that, our Lord Himself honored us, this is a divine command
because he, peace and blessings be upon him, is our share among the prophets and Messengers.
The outpouring of blessings and goodness that descended upon his noble heart
is something he wished for us to share in.
Reflect on the Prophet’s love for his nation, it is something wondrous and magnificent.
No matter how much a person reads, learns,
or memorizes the hadiths about the virtues of sending salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
they cannot truly taste the real meanings
of sending salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
except by being in the company of lovers
those deeply connected to the person of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Allah, the Almighty, has created angels whose sole task is
to seek out gatherings where salawat upon the Prophet are being recited.
So, they may convey them to the Beloved, peace and blessings be upon him.
How immense is this treasure of sending salawat upon the Prophet, it is only understood by those who grasp its meanings among his nation.
"Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet."
"O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace."
Praying for the Prophet is a sign of love.
This love, whether expressed secretly or openly, he definitely sees it.
Will the Prophet benefit of these prayers?
In reality, our prayers for the Prophet are simply a reaffirmation of his already exalted status.
We pray to say, "O Lord, we love him.”
O Lord, increase his blessings, elevate him further," as we ourselves need these prayers.
This is a proof of our monotheism, love, submission, and obedience.
This truth resides in the heart of every lover of the Prophet.
Whoever sends salawat upon the Prophet is, in essence, praying for their own soul.
They seek closeness to the Prophet, not the other way around.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is already near to Allah, the Almighty.
Our prayers for him do not make him closer to Allah.
Even if all the people on earth gathered and prayed for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
at the same moment and in the same time,
it would not increase his status before his Lord since it is already complete.
However, it would elevate and bring his nation closer to him, peace and blessings be upon him.
We are the ones in need of this; this is the language of love.
As Imam Al-Jazuli said, "He is everything to us."
O Allah, expand our hearts through prayers upon him.
O Allah, ease our affairs through prayers upon him and relieve our worries.
O Allah, remove our distress through prayers upon him and forgive our sins.
If the world were silent and no one sent prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
would he still be prayed for? Yes, indeed, he would be prayed for.
Everything on earth sends prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
whether human, animal, inanimate object, sky, or earth,
all send prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Why? Because if not for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
all of these things I just mentioned would have no worth.
They would have no value in existence.
Allah, the Almighty, has honored us by allowing us to send prayers upon His Beloved, peace and blessings be upon him.
Therefore, in the end, sending prayers upon the Beloved, peace and blessings be upon him,
is a divine gift that reflects the value of divine love.
Thus, sending prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
It is the only act that Allah, the Almighty, Himself performs—Allah does not pray, perform pilgrimage, or fast.
O Gentle One, You have always been gentle
You have always been gentle
Show us kindness in what remains
And in the decree that is yet to unfold
O Allah, send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Opener of what was sealed
Our Lord, the Manifest, Glory to His Majesty
Our Lord, the Hidden, Glory to His Majesty
Our Lord, the Sovereign, Glory to His Majesty.
The connection between Allah and us strengthens
by sending prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him
Adding endless blessings into the lives of individuals and the community.
Scholars describe this as the immense benefits of sending prayers upon our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
And this will be the topic of our next discussion, God willing.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 133 times in this episode.
